São Paulo, one of the largest global metropolises, is implementing a series of public transportation projects aimed at improving urban mobility and meeting the growing population demand. Below are some key ongoing initiatives:
1. **Expansion of Line 2-Green of the Metro**
The Line 2-Green is being expanded to reach more remote areas, adding eight new stations. This extension will facilitate access to previously underserved regions by public transport, promoting a more efficient integration between different areas of the city.
2. **Development of Line 6-Orange**
Known as the "University Line," Line 6-Orange is under construction and will connect neighborhoods like Brasilândia and São Joaquim, passing by important higher education institutions. Recently, studies for its expansion were approved, adding an additional 7 km of tracks and six new stations, which will allow for a direct connection with Line 10-Turquoise of the CPTM.
3. **Implementation of Line 17-Gold (Monorail)**

In an initiative focused on sustainability, the City of São Paulo, through SPTrans, is incorporating 100 new electric buses into the municipal fleet. This measure aims to reduce pollutant emissions and promote a more eco-friendly and efficient public transportation system.
6. **Program "São Paulo on Tracks"**
Launched by the state government, the "São Paulo on Tracks" program aims to expand the state's rail network to about 1,000 kilometers in length. Currently, it includes approximately 40 projects, including expansions of metropolitan train and metro lines and the construction of new branches, such as lines 14-Onyx, 16-Violet, 19-Sky Blue, and 20-Pink. The total estimated investment for these projects is about R$ 194 billion.
